Air conditioner
Your AC unit was designed to withstand rain. While rain will not damage your air conditioner, deep standing water like flood could. If there is more than about 10 inches of water, your air conditioner may not be able to operate.
Ideally the air conditioner should be installed on the north or east side of you home, so that your home can naturally shade your air conditioning unit from the sun during the hottest part of the day. Avoid any place that close to your heat source.
The best time to install your air conditioner is in the spring, so you can prepare yourself ahead for Calgary summer heat.
